About CUISPA

Since 2005, CUISPA has quickly become a valuable resource for the credit union industry’s leading IT security and risk management professionals. Through structured local peer groups, webcasts, conferences, and a private member website, members gather to share knowledge, discuss strategies, and network to improve risk management practices. CUISPA is a progressive national association of IT professionals, from both large and small credit unions, dedicated to improving IT risk throughout the industry. From the industry’s largest credit union to some of the smallest, CUISPA’s membership encompasses a broad range of knowledge, expertise, and support.

Mission
CUISPA’s mission is to facilitate cooperation and knowledge sharing among credit union IT professionals, vendors, industry leaders, and regulatory agencies in an effort to improve the effectiveness, efficiency, and affordability of credit union IT security and risk management practices.

Cooperation
Information security and risk management are continual challenges, for financial institutions. Combating evolving threats while balancing budgets, resources and risks is a process all credit unions must face. Historically, credit unions have approached these challenges independently, each drafting policies and procedures, responding to NCUA guidance, and performing due diligence and evaluation on their own. Now there is a resource for all credit unions to quickly gain insight and valuable knowledge from their peers on the challenges they face. Whether evaluating solutions or responding to the latest threat, cooperation is critical for minimizing risk.

Structure
CUISPA is a national organization of credit union IT professionals. CUISPA, Inc. is an independent legal entity, a 501(c)(6) organization incorporated in the state of Texas and directed by elected officers that provide leadership for the association's mission, initiatives, and benefits. The direction of the association is determined by the consensus input of its members, affiliates, and advisory board. CUISPA represents the shared interest of its members. As a member your input makes a difference.

Vendor Participation
CUISPA is not a reseller, subsidiary, affiliate, or agent of a vendor. By policy, we do not endorse specific products, services or vendors. The CUISPA Affiliate Member Program was developed for credit union focused vendors to share expertise in an impartial environment. These organizations are recognized leaders in the credit union industry and have chosen to support the mission of CUISPA. Affiliate Members make valuable contributions, including member services, discounts, technical expertise, support and education. To qualify for Affiliate Membership companies must be nominated by existing CUISPA general members and must agree to the terms and conditions, privacy policy, and code of ethics as stated. Affiliate Members are screened to verify their acceptance of membership terms and their commitment to the credit union industry.
