Washington D.C. Chapter Meets at World Bank Austin, Texas 8/31/06- Bank Fund Staff FCU hosted a chapter meeting at the World Bank in Washington, D.C. on August 23rd. Attracting 25 individuals from 15 credit unions, and representatives from the NCUA and Secret Service, the meeting focused on sharing strategies for system log management and incident response. “Rich Anderson, Information Security Administrator for Bank Fund Staff FCU did a great job of facilitating this meeting and instigating an informative exchange of ideas,” said Kelly Dowell, Executive Director of CUISPA. “It was great to see the interest in participation at this meeting. When a group of IT managers gather in an environment like this, quality information tends to surface.” Juan Baptista with Apple FCU explains, “this type of interaction is very important to the success of our CUs as we all know we pretty much face the same challenges. By discussing these topics, we can all learn from one another, recommend solutions, as well as warn others of what does not work.” Glen Crasta from Marriott Employees FCU agrees, “Given the limited financial resources of Credit Unions, CUISPA is a place to share information on the common threats that we face. I look forward to my continued participation in the organization.” |
